Doubt about RAM frequencies

Hi ppl!

I never truly understood the difference between 1333Mhz RAM and faster ones. In my case I bought Kingston Predator (2400Mhz) because at that moment it was extremely cheap and a friend also recommended it to me, as it would improve perfomance alongside my OCed 3570.

Although I haven't had any issues with it so far, I'd like to know if there truly IS a difference. :)

What I would do first is open your BIOS and see if your memory is being read as 2400mhz. Most likely, it isn't. It is probably on default settings at 1333 or 1600.

Is there truly a difference? Yes, there is a difference between a 1333 vs 2400. But, would you notice it? No.

A 1600mhz stick with a CL timing of 7 is faster then a 1866 RAM with a CL timing of 11.

When people ask what RAM they should get, I always tell them, grab a 1600 with the lowest timing you can get.

1333 means the clk frequency is 667M, data rate is 1333M. it means data can be transfered 1333M times per second.
DDR = Double Data Rate

I checked the BIOS and it is read as 2400Mhz. Luckily I got cheap then 😛
