Question Downclock DDR5 on B450M-A that supports DDR4

Hello, I have an ASUS B450M-A with a Ryzen 7 3700x and 16gb of 3000mhz DDR4 ram. I’m looking at buying new memory on sale for Prime Day.

There is RAM on sale that is 32GB at 5600Mhz DDR5 but the B450M-A supports DDR4.

If I buy the ram, will it downclock to 3600mhz or 4400mhz and max out on the motherboard, or do I have to look for DDR4 ram explicitly?

Is there anything I’d have to do in BIOS to force the downclock?

DDR5 rams and slots are notched differently. You can't drop in DDR5 on a DDR4 motherboard.

In addition, there's different voltages for signalling, a different messaging protocols for command/status, the fact it's split into 2x32-bit subchannels now...
