I upgraded my pc to windows 10 pro from windows 7 pro for free. I now want to go back to windows 7 but it has been over a month so I can't do it withing the settings. The windows 7 was pre-installed and I cannot use the product key to download windows 7 from the microsoft website. Anyone know if it's possible?

Hi

as a warning to others

If your PC came with Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 but no Windows DVD or USB was provided

look for instructions on how to make a Windows recovery disk set
for 7 probably DVD and 8 & 8.1 probably USB

usually you get message about this when you first set up windows

Usually a windows utility in Dell or Toshiba (or other maker) program utilities menu

In most cases the recovery Windows is locked to the motherboard make & model
(so can be obtained from an identical PC/Laptop)

There are a few companies selling Windows recovery disk sets but you should go to the PC manufacturer first unless they recomend a supplier as the recovery disks needed are not stocked any more.

Obtain the install media from your manufacturer.
