Question download speed reduced by half when using display port

Hi, i have a problem regarding my monitor right now, it is acer nitro vg271up. it came with hdmi cable only, so i need to purchase display port to use adaptive gsync with my rtx 2070s

My monitor works fine when im using Hdmi but whenever i use display port my internet /download speed reduced by half, sometimes not even available to connect to my wifi, i notice it is increase back to normal when the monitor sleeps or turn off by seeing steam peak when downloading.

This is my first pc, so i have no clue about this, is there anything that im doing wrong? Pls help me 🙁 . Thank you!

Interference? What frequency is your wifi running at? 2.4g 5g? I've never heard of this and i run a Displayport monitor with a wireless router behind it.

Does the same thing happen with a network cable?

hi ty for replying, i think its 2.4ghz, do u mean ethernet ? i cannot use ethernet because the router is in the middle of my house, im not sure about interference, hdmi doesnt show any problem, but it happens once i connect my monitor using display port q.q...

If this monitor is limited to 60Hz with Hdmi, see what happens if your remain on 60 using DP.

this monitor is 144hz, and other than the download speed issues, others are working fine if i use the display port sir

That's not what i asked. I know your monitor is 144Hz... Im simply asking to drop hz down to 60 to see if frequency is causing your network issues.

Because this is an odd issue right.

Thought maybe Hdmi 60Hz is no problem but Displayport at 144Hz, who knows.

If the monitor or DP cable at 144Hz is upsetting the wireless antenna then it might be possible to use an wireless extender plugged in a power socket away from the PC and run a network cable between.

is there any chances that the display port is broken ?, its quite expensive for me, not sure if i should get a new one

Doubt it if 144Hz works.

Have you dropped hz to 60 yet to see if lowering it helps regarding the wifi antenna?
