downloaded acrobat reader

since I downloaded and update for adobe reader my windows 7 wont start, it wont let the recovery fix it either

Not all of those updates are actually updates, a lot are viruses. Did the update message come from your Adobe Reader setup or just some pop-up on the internet?

Can you start in Safe Mode? Hit F8 as the system is booting a few times. Or try last known good configuration.

You may need to use yoru Windows 7 disk and run a Repair setup of Windows.
