So I had Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 10 now my mouse won't move . I can't click on any options I can only bring up task manager. One tech support guy told me I'd have to bring my computer in to reinstall Windows 8 because it doesn't show up as an option when I tried to reset it. But ive noticed a lot of people had this problem should I take It in or do any of you have something that works so I don't have to pay.

This happened to me when I downloaded win 10. I just had to wait for win update to download the drivers for my mouse and it was fine. You can also plug in an external mouse and see if that works as it should download the drivers for it. Then you can go to the manufactures site and see if there are any drivers there.

Have you got a spare mouse lying around the house? Try using a friend's if not, it'll be a question of drivers.

try the mouse in a different port and a port thats on the rear--ie a motherboard one not a front or side port

also use the keyboard to navigate to device manager--bit of a pain but can be done--and see if your mouse is listed

if it is tell it to update/search for driver

and search/update any drivers for any devices that have exclamations on them
