Initially, it will wipe out all that is on it. It gets completely reformatted.

After creating it, you can put other things on it.

It should be, yes.
But with the incredibly low price of small flash drives, I see little reason to do that.

This one you're using will get formatted to FAT32, and be a max 32GB. So if it is larger than that...wasted capacity.

okay ya i was just wondering my labtop is broken so i have to download a media drive on it so i was hoping i would not have to go and delete the files on my 1 usb and put media in and bla bla bla. I will buy a cheap 32 gb sins i dont also wanna ruin my 1tb external lol. Thank you

Yes, don't use a 1TB drive for this.
As said, it WILL gt reformatted...all data gone.
