Question Downloads folder files - odd issues

Hi all,

I am using Windows 10 Pro. In my downloads folder under users/name/downloads I can't move or cut and paste multiple files or folders. I can drag and drop files and folders one at a time and then delete the remaining file from downloads one at a time, but if I select more than one then they will not delete.

I ran into a pdf that I cannot delete or remove. I can't open it because it says I do not have permission. I realize this may be a permissions issue, but I went into permissions under downloads and I am not seeing where I do not have full control as an admin.

Is there a way to reset permissions to default without screwing things up further? I assume this is a permissions issue that is - I can go into cmd and try to do that, but I don't want to reset something if that is going to make my issues worse.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

A "reset" method would make any folder/file restrictions moot.

The starting point is to determine, if indeed, that you are an administrator.

FYI:

https://www.makeuseof.com/check-windows-account-admin-rights/

Permissions:

If you right-click any given folder or file then select Properties > Security you should see the permissions available to you as an Admin or as a User.

If you as a user do not have the necessary permissions then the file owner/admin will need to grant you the necessary permissions.

Yes, I am the administrator and only account on the PC.
