Hi,

After switching from r9 270X to GTX 960 I have BSOD in the middle of the games and sometimes while watching movie on BS player.

BSOD says DPC watchdog violation, I googled it but couldn't fix it myself.
I used bluescreen view to capture the log and minidump files so here they are uploaded if anyone can look and help.

I uploaded only one dmp file because it doesn't allow me tu upload all, don't know why, but they are all similar, they say there is a problem with hal.dll, and I read that means windows has problem while booting up before full boot up. Which doesn't make sense to me because I get BSOD few hours after booting up, in the middle of the game.

I tried 3 different nvidia drivers and a bunch of other drivers as well, like chipset, audio etc.

I have:
760ga p43 fx
fx 6300
8gb ram
corsair rm650x

Solution
I had this problem recently and determined the problem was recent Windows Updates. I uninstalled all of the Windows Updates from 2018 and that fixed my problem. I hope this works for you, this error is infuriating lol
You switched from AMD to NVIDIA. Did you use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely clear all old drivers on the system before installing the NVIDIA card? If not, i recommend you do so. Even old redundant drivers lying dormant can cause nasty conflictions.

DDU-> https://www.wagnardsoft.com/

I did use DDU.

I installed Driver Easy program which downloaded some new drivers, hoped it would fix the problem but nope. Only different thing is that I had a freeze of 20 seconds and then it was all right. Then, after few hours, after new freeze, it was blue screen again. I mean, that recovery from first freeze is new thing.

Don't know what to try anymore, looks like I need to reinstall OS.

Well, your idea is new, I'm uninstalling 7 updates from 2018. We'll se what will happen.

You had the exact same problem?

EDIT: After about 50 minutes of playing game, there were no problems. I don't want to celebrate just yet, but I couldn't play 50 minutes without problem for last 10 days. I uninstalled all windows updates from 2018.

edit2: Ok, uninstalling windows updates fixed this problem. Now I just have to figure out which updates I should install anyway but thank you for saving me from reinstalling windows!
