every time i try to print more than 1 doc in word, using my nt server machine i get a dr watson error that says "an application error has occured and an application log is being generated, spoolss.exe. Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), address 0x0054004e." i have reinstalled office 2000, the printer and nt. after i get that error, my printer is deleted and when i try to reinstall printer without rebooting i get "operation could not be completed, the rpc service is unavailable" error. anyone have any ideas? i have tried sp4 and 6a. i have tried reinstalling spoolss.exe. nothing seems to work....

...and i would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids...

Make sure the necessary services are running. Also, make sure you have the correct NT4 driver for your printer. If you do, see if you can find a different (older maybe?) driver.
Reapplying the Service Pack isn't a bad idea either..

If you loan a friend $20 & never see them again, it was worth it.

What printer it is? I had such problems with HP LaserJet 6P, I had to go with the LaserJet 4 drivers. Your problem is probably linked to the driver you are using. Try the driver writen for a similar printer.
