hi there,

fore some reason my game is severely lagging while the nvdia geforce experience says i can run this game on ultra easy.
i have checked and the game laggs even on the lowest settings!
anyone know a solution thanks!
(my graphic card is a ge-force 970 superclocked from EVGA)

In Origin try to uncheck the “Enable Origin in Game” option.

Apparently it's the magical fix to solve the stuttering/lag in DA:I and a few other games.

Make sure you have the latest drivers also.

well i first played the game at high with no lagg at all with a far lesser graphics card.
ge-force experience says i am already using the latest drivers and i also had origin in game dissabled
thank you all for the quick reply

gpu: Geforce GTX 970
cpu: intel(R) core i5 CPU 750 @2.67ghz
8gb RAM
resolution 1920x1080,60Hz
windows 7 home premium

i have tested multiple newer games and i can all run them on highest settings also

yeah but now i can't even run the game smoothly un low settings so that does not make sense right?

Are you playing Ultra with 4x MSAA? Don't get over confident by your new card.

multi sampling anti-aliasing is off

You are using a very old CPU, while it won't crash the FPS to sub 30, it will cause major drops in FPS at stock frequencies. I too have a CPU from the same era, and the game does get a bit choppy at default clocks. It runs a lot better at 3.8Ghz. If you are having troubles at low and ultra, that does point to a CPU issue.

Let's start by monitoring your GPU. What does MSI Afterburner show as your GPU usage while playing? What are it's clocks and temps too.

Upgrade your CPU, its causing massive bottlenecks, I had the same issue going from a old AMD HD 6000 series to a GTX 770 while keeping my old processor. I recommend getting one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899 This is also a good processor: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-Quad-Core-Processor/dp/B007SZ0E1K

Please note that if you do decide to upgrade your processor that its likely that you will need to change motherboards as well. Make sure to check your socket on your motherboard to make sure that it will fit whatever processor you choose to buy.

gpu usage is around 65% when playing and still lagging like hell

Check your memory usage..(RAM) its possible that your maxing out your memory and its accessing the page file causing lag.

Being able to run Unity doesn't mean your hardware should run well with Inquisition. Don't get me wrong, it is a EA game, and they are typically plauged with issues. That being said if you come to the conclusion that your hardware isnt the issue I'd contact their support for the game. Issue with that is they're just going to tell you the same thing when you list your specs. That you have a old processor that doesnt meet the recommended requirements.

I'd still suggest checking your memory usage while your playing inquisition. Let me know what you find.

yeah memory usage is also nothing out of the ordanary
and i think it has something to do with the graphics card, i have found more people having problems with it running DAI.
i mean if i could run it on high before why should't i be able to do so now?

65% usages suggests the GPU is being held back by another part of your system. Possibly your CPU. What was the clocks during that time? It is possible they aren't at full clock speeds.

Its a possibility that its something wrong with the card, but my knowledge of troubleshooting graphics cards is limited.

And like I said before, the CPU could be bottle necking the GPU into not running properly. You'll have to make sure its not a issue with the GPU first obviously, but I really think upgrading the CPU might be the fix. Save that part for last though, sorry i cant be of more help.

well thank you all for the help, i was already considering upgrading my CPU , looks like i will just have to wait playing DAI until that time
