I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Crap case. Crap PSU. Small monitor. Blu-Ray will lose out to HD-DVD (don't get me started) so don't waste your money. And lastly, never EVER mix DX9 and DX10 cards. They will NOT work together, you can't mix and match drivers on the same machine. BAD, bad.

If you look back thru these posts, you'll see alot of commonalities:

-quad core
-Striker mobo
-4 gigs top notch RAM
-2 8800GTX's in SLI
-minimum 24" monitor
-FAST hard drives
-NICE big case
-liquid cooling
-sound card
-good speakers

Really, that covers it. Just pick the exact manufacturers and you got yourself a helluva system.

Oh, and a side note, already 3,500 views on this topic....it's everyone's DREAM 😉 We'll probably hit 10,000 before this thing is purchased LOL

I apologize for that post.... I swore I had picked the 1000w Case+PS... and I never would have mixed those GFX cards - not sure how that happened either...

Just get an Order from PCpowerplay in Australia and build the beast.

I'm nice so I will post it.

Or as others are saying you could go much cheaper and still get a great system with this:

Others as in who, exactly?

Who in their right mind would recommend a DELL???

For that matter, for $10,000, there's NO WAY you'll get a good deal on a prefab PC. You have to build, or you'll lose ~33% of the value.

Me, I'm suggesting the DELL based on this review
http://reviews.cnet.com/Dell_XPS_710_H2C/4505-3118_7-32305739.html
Price it, for what you get, it is about $2000 cheaper than other builders. And I've priced building one myself and always run it up higher when I try to configure similar cooling. But then I'm a novice at water cooling.

Actually, I built the system in question, but with better Motherboard, Higher DDR2 800 RAM with minor differences in how I set up the HDDs, and came in Just under $4000... Thats $1759 cheaper than Dell... thankyaverrmhuch...

don't forget 2 Westinghouse 37" true 1080p displays 8ms speed for those vids. I have one but it would be nice to have two. There is an identical 42" 1080p model but its to big for up close and the image is so much sharper on the smaller pixels of the 37"'s anyways. A pair of these will chew up over $3,000 grand from your budget but you still have enough.

Now this I can answer

Dont get a DELL

1) You dont want to pay a customer service when your best customer service is yourself or Toms Forums 😉
2) You dont want to spend $200 on their case because even if you buy a cheap-o dell with $400, you are paying like $80 for their cheap-*ss case.
3) You dont want to pay for the extra garbage of software that comes with it
4) You will pay for something that you will find is not worth the money, instead built something yourself which will bring faster components.

Personally, I would go for a Falcon Northwest Mach 5. Theyve got award winning service and quality and they OC and test your PC for you. Also for fun, their paintjobs kick some serious a#@

http://www.falcon-nw.com/

I would get the QX6700 (3.51ghz btw)
4gb of Corsair Twin-X 8500C5 ram
watercooling kit
dual 8800gtx's
dual Raptor 150gb 10 hds
a 750gb hd
dual liteon dvd burners
media card reader w logitech G15 and g7 kb and mouse

then I would buy the Dell 3007WFP http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=222-0863
for $1274

good stuff will run you: $9927

Nice suggestion Billdcat. And I have to admit I really like the fact that their standard case doesn't look like it belongs in a teenager's room (like Alien's does).

Man those are expensive... I guess if you just want to get it and be done, but wheres the fun in that?

I have always enjoyed the comps I built that gave me some pain in the process  i only wish I had been a member of Toms Forumz back then.

But I can make up for it - seeing as things are getting interesting. You don't have to wait years to decide to upgrade to better equipment...(HEY! Hows that for putting a spin on how to deal with your stuff being out of date in 6 months HUH?)

Man those are expensive... I guess if you just want to get it and be done, but wheres the fun in that?

Some people like to go get junk cars and restore them. Me? I'd rather go to a dealer and buy a new one that just runs each and every time I climb into it. Is it more expesive to get cars that way? Sure is. Am I getting the absolute max HP out of my engine? Probably not. But not everyone is a car enthusiast and hobbyist. And the same might be said for PCs.

An Aliencase looks so pimp on a teenagers room, even on people of others ages 😀

Asus striker motherboard. $320
QX6700 CPu 1000 dollars.
Thermaltake Mozart Tx $200
Vapochill lightspeed Phase change $740
437W Qmax Peltier*2 $100
Koolance ERM-3K4U1 (3kW) One Pump Standalone Cooling System $1350
Danger Den 8800GTX Video Card Liquid Cooling Block * 2 $260
SilverStone Strider OP1000 1000W Power * 1 $350
Mean Well 600W 24V Single Output *2 = 320
2 8800 gtx = $1200
150gb raptor *2 = $450
4*500gbyte Sata 16mb seagate = $600
Gigabyte I-ram $120
4gb of ddr ram $300
OCZ Water cooled FlexXLC Edition 2x1GB PC2-9200 5-5-5-18 * 2 = $920
Xfi platinum $175
Dvd burner * 2 = $65
dell 3007 = 1200
= $9670

You probaly have to buy some more fitting for the water cooling and the peltier might need some components. But if you could get all the above to work. You would probaly have amoung the
top 10 fastest PC for 24-7 use in the world. And considering that all these components would still not show any phase change elements or black tubes it would be overall the most sensible and fastest in the world.
If you replace the coolant of the Phase change, it could even be better.

You could add another peltier to your chipset and basically every overclockable piece in your computer would be cooled to lower than 0 C except the ram.

but this pc would be very powerconsuming and you might need a special outlet for it.

Regarding monitors, instead of a 30" I'd get a twin or triple 24" setup side by side

Yeah I def can't disagree (tho I would go 22", just cuz they're so much cheaper than 24"). It's a matter of preference, though, I think.

I like the single big monitor and LCD TV setup cuz you can rip/stream movies to your TV in 1080p. You PC doubles as a multimedia behometh. Plus, some games (Such as CS and Oblivion) are best on a ginormous TV, while others (Such as Web Development and RTS games) are better suited for a monitor, or multiple monitors.

That's just why I like it, though. I know some people who would prefer to watch a DVD on one monitor and work on another. The options are definately there, though.

Obivion looks SO rediculous on 1080p. My buddy has a 40" Sony Bravia, and I tell you, it's like apples to oranges next to his 19" widescreen. He doesn't even have a diesel card, either (a single X1950 XT).

Dell's garbage, no matter what you get. It's kinda sad, actually. They were really good at one point. Trying to sell dell on these forums is like trying to tell a bunch of AZN's to go buy FORD mustangs. You're wasting your time.

F-NW is simply overpriced. Actually, I have to keep from throwing up in my mouth thinking that they probably order their stuff from newegg as well, and you're paying double just to have someone build it and spray paint it pretty colors.... 30 minutes + YouTube, and you can build a mean OC'ed PC nowadays. I'll get my 3-year old son to finger paint the case later for free.

I didn't see cooling in your build? how do you build a quiet water/phaze cooling system with all the bling the H2C has for $4000.00 or even $5000.00
I mean the H2C has a slower board and slower memory but it has 4 gb of memory. It has the very best and quitest cooling, the best video in Sli, the best quad core CPU, two 150gb Raptors in raid, 1 750gb Seagate, an X-Fi card, an optional PhysX card, an optional TV tuner card and a pretty good choice of high quality monitors.
Max out an H2C build and try to match the cooling set up. See how much better you do. The cooling set up is what gets me. Does Coolit Systems come close? Or is DELL actually using hardware from Coolit Systems?

I wish I had time to research it. Gotta run.

Or as others are saying you could go much cheaper and still get a great system with this:

1. Cooling = Tuniq Tower 120

2. I don't need phase change... that is for extreme overclocking and I want my stuff to last a while... a 22% overclock is absolutely fine.

3. I have only 1 Raptor... and 4 - 250GB drives in RAID 0 = 1.15TB

4. I have 4 gig G.Skill D9GMH memory DDR2 800

5. There is no need for physics card, but can be purchased for additional $150

6. X-Fi sound... Blah... I'm 37 years old, and have no desire to loose any more of my hearing... and onboard is very good sound quality...

7. I have a Hauppage WinTV 350 TV card... sitting on my desk... it was about $160, but I don't use it really.

The Phase change system is about $800, and to be fair - add maybe another $100 for good measure.

OK... so thats an additional $150 + $160 + $900... bringing the total to $5150. Still under the $5760 for the Dell, and the Dell gives you a lesser component Build (In Quality)... thats Mobo & RAM - Probably Generic.

If he has $10k to burn, why doesn't he just get a good quality SCSI card, and like, four 15,000rpm Cheetah drives to RAID0 with? If you want performance...there you go. Those b!tche$ would smoke any SATA setup you guys speak of. Now of course, getting 3-4 Raptors would be much more cost efficient, but, he wanted to know what was good/fast. There ya go, pal.

I agree using SCSI is the absolute fastest at the moment... Unfortunately finding a motherboard that supports the SCSI interface and all the other little extras is the real challenge... as I have yet to find it myself.

SCSI is mainly used for server applications which subtract from the Enthusiasts options.
