Hey,
Right now, I have Samsung 980 (non-pro) 500 GB. I know it's DRAMless drive, but it looked fine and works fine.
I use Docker and programming a lot - many, small files (JS and not only, big projects), databases, enabled WSL on Windows etc.
Does it make sense to switch the main drive to something faster like KC3000 or SN850X or 980/990 Pro (with DRAM and Gen4) for more IOPS and use current Samsung as additional storage?
I will require more space soon, and I'm not sure what will be better. Buy the second one 980, or just something better as a new OS drive.
I have already seen some tests/reviews etc. but most of them are focused on benchmarks, sequential read and write - in my work, it does not matter, but IOPS / latency etc. is important.
The rest of the PC is i5-12400 + MSI PRO B660M-A + 64 GB DDR4 3200 and Windows 11 22H2 so it can support nvme gen4 without issues.
