dried Thermal paste fell inside socket, is it safe to run pc?(pics)

Small piece of Dried Thermal paste residue fell on socket when cleaning cpu. Can't remove it despite my best tries, cpu temp are running high when I turn on pc. What should I do? Here's pics 5 year old mobo http://imgur.com/RhQWnUr

i would say ethanol is your best bet... but besides that.. you are pretty much in a bad spot. I feel for you 🙁

Try using tweezers to lift it out. Make sure you ground yourself during the process by touching the metal case of the PC constantly, and don't stand on a carpeted area while doing so. Be sure not to bend any pins as well.
