Question Monitor Glitching/ Flickering after replacing Displayport cable without prongs/ release button

Hey guys

So I replaced my Display port cable today, it was a display port without the release button or prongs
and ever since it has been glitching , however I noticed it appears to stop when I change my Display port version from 1.4 to 1.2 which has never been an issue, not sure if its just the cord is not sitting right because its missing the prongs or its a settings issue?

any help would be appreciated

Displayport cable I bought

Monitor: Samsung Odyssey S49CG95x
Graphics card: Nvidia RTX 4070 TI

Possibly but yeah I had to revert back to the cable with the release button and all is working well wonder if there is a difference I don't know about with the one with and without the release buttons
