I have bought a new PC everything is NEW
Gigabyte AB350M-DS3H
Ryzen 3 2200g
Vengeance LPX 2x4gb 3000hz
Patriot Blast 240gb SATA III 6gb/s (old)
I barely have any experience with computer hardware but I'll my best to describe the problem I'm having.
I just bought everything including windows 10 home boot disk. I connect an external hard disk driver(L shaped sata and power cable) and insert that boot disk but it cannot boot from DVD/CD because it reads the disk and shuts down, probably because the disk driver is old.
So I tried downloading the Windows 10 Media tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10) from my laptop. And plugged in my USB (ADATA 32GB UV128 USB 3.0 Flash Drive) and tried the flash USB option and it didn't work, had an error and unformatted the usb. I had to reformat it and clicked the other option of download iso file and using Rufus. Settings in Rufus 3.1 were gpt.
I insert usb in usb 3.0 correctly and started my machine into bios where it gets tricky, I read everywhere that I'm supposed to disable safe mode and enable legacy, not sure what that means. The SSD appeared as a boot option and as well as "ADATA 3.0 Flash Drive" and "UEFI: ADATA 3.0 Flash Drive Partition 1". The UEFI one was boot priority number 1 and when I tried to boot into it, after the loading symbol it appeared black screen. So I tried another method and that's pressing f12 into boot manager and booted from there, surprisingly it worked and booted into Windows 10 setup, not sure what caused the black screen though.
Here is where things get extremely irritating, when I'm prompted into selecting drives to install windows 10 but it shows "drive 0 unallocated space 0 mb" with no other drives or partitions. when I press REFRESH, drive 0 disappears and the box is left blank. Remember I only have one SSD that I want to install windows on but the SSD did not show up. Even when I press browse there's nothing.
- I also tried the method of installing Intel x64 and x86 drivers into a folder and placed into the windows 10 boot usb but it did not boot successfully, led to black screen as well.
- I also tried opening cmd diskpart and listing all the drives, but it only show my windows boot usb and nothing else. My ssd does not show up? Where is everything??
- tried creating new partition, the maximum size that allowed was 7mb and when I type something like 100gb it shows error message.
Everything has been tried for a couple of days with no success, everything leading to the drives of 0mb and no other drives. This is very frustrating as I can't even do a simple task. Please help me I can provide images to solve my problem, thank you so much and sorry for long text
