Question Driver issue or failing component

Was using my PC yesterday, when suddenly the screen went black, I heard the usb disconnect/connect sound, and then the screen came back. I’ve never seen it do this before

I updated my GPU drivers right after this thinking outdated drivers were what caused the issue.

But now I’m starting to wonder if this was actually a sign that the PCIe slot is struggling to make a connection with the GPU and the motherboard is therefore on the way out. Please advise

Unless it starts happening all the time, don't worry about it, there are a million things that can cause this to happen, and very few of them actually mean anything is wrong.

Check monitor cable.
Probably loose cable and it got disconnected.
