Question Driver Problem

Hi everybody,

I’m new to the blog and I’m sorry if eventually I’m posting in the wrong section, but I hope someone can help me solve my problem.

I made a mistake with my computer: I deleted(uninstalled) accidentally the driver “Controller host Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible - 1.10 (Microsoft)” from my Windows 10 OS. The specific path for the driver is [Computer Management>Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers>Controller...etc..].

The problem is: now that I uninstalled this driver, my USB ports won’t function anymore, they don’t read any external peripheral device such as my keyboard or mouse. I know how to download and install the driver from the Intel website, but now I can’t control the arrow because no USB port is functioning. My computer is new, so I have only USB 3.0/3.1 ports and don’t have USB 2.0 ports.

How can I get back to utilize my computer? The mouse and keyboard work when accessing the BIOS, but when I exit the bios both mouse and keyboard turn off their lights and stop working.

Are you able to boot into safe mode?

If so, go into command mode and try using "sfc /scannow". May be able to restore the drivers for you.

Reference Microsoft link:

There are other links to be found. However, be wary as some of those imply that you should download some utility or other "repair" application. Such downloads are seldom necessary or even applicable per se.

Try System Restore. It should’ve created a restore point when you remove those drivers so go back and pick that date and restore it
