Hi ...
I have a Dell Inspiron 7737 laptop with windows 8.1 installed ...
the problem is my bluetooth driver is not installing ... i've had this laptop for 8 months now, it worked before but since i last did a clean install of Win 8.1 it stopped working ...
i installed a driver of intel proset/wireless bluetooth v17.1.1529 and i think this driver messed it up ... i cannot remove it ... i tried removing it through control panel but whenever i try BSOD occurs ...
i cannot install any driver on top of it ... it also gives an error that driver is not for this platform ...
the bluetooth device is appearing as unknown device in device manager.
i tried uninstalling it in safe mode but it gives some error of windows installer
any suggestions ??

Solution
can you disable the device in BIOS, then when you boot windows the driver will not load and you will not bugcheck and can remove or update the software.

you might also try to remove the driver directly from the driverstore so plug and play does not reinstall it 1 or 2 seconds after your uninstall it.
very common for people to remove a driver and think the removal failed when in fact Plug and play detects the device and reinstall the driver you just removed.
