Question Drivers for network card keep crapping out on me ?

Motherboard: Ramsta RS-A88
CPU: AMD A8-8780
RAM: 16GB

It has a network card built into it as most modern mobos do... but mine keeps going offline.. possibly due to my going ham on downloading.. either steam ,porn or torrents, not your concern.

Back on Windows 7, if I selected "troubleshoot" the part where the network drivers are reset would fix it real quick.. so my question is, would buying a stand alone PCI network card rectify the problem, in my current location it's only $3.50... I'll order PCI instead of PCIe just in case.

I use Windows 10 and I have the case on it's side with side panel off for heat to escape... but I think the
heatsink fan is blowing out the rear.. and maybe the heat is passing over the built in network card..... But a PCI network card would be slightly away from the hsf... sorry it's a big change going from an arctic country to a tropical one, PC heat was never an issue where I used to live.

The fiber optics modem is only 1 meter from the PC.. Do any of you think it's worth going to a PCI WiFi card instead ?

Doublecheck that only one network adapter (be it wired or wireless) is enabled.

What source(s) are you using to download the drivers?

Modem is a 1 unit thing.. brand name echolife GP8816A.

For the ipconfig results please wait till tomorrow.. it is currently 0500 in this part of the world

And network drivers are whatever Microsoft decided is best after I pressed "install windows 10"

Windows 10 says no updates available and pressing "update drivers" in device manager does nothing and I can't find any network drivers updates on the ramsta website.. half of it being in Mandarin doesn't help either.

Already ordered the network card.. 5$us with shipping, can't hurt to have it around even if I don't use it...

On your PC, first disable IPv6. Determine if that makes a difference.

Allow a day or so.

The next suggestion will be to increase the DHCP IP lease time on the router. Technically not an issue but short lease times can be problematic.

Current lease time is 24 hours. Increase to a week.

The next step will be to change the DNS servers to Google at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Keep track of what you do and when.

If nothing helps then hopefully the new network card will work.

well im in Asia now.. so naturall ipv6 would be on by defeault.. buy its off on both ethernet and the usb wifi dongle... and im taking a screenshot of the lazada order of the network card (lazada is a local clone of amazon.but more fun because its all from China and cheap AF....
brand is Kebidumei 2.5G PCI-E to RJ45 network card RTL8125B chip gigabit etc. etc.. speed is i believe 2500 Mbps.. which is as likely as michael jackson actually moonwalking on the freaking moon... everything advertised from china can apperantly cure cancer and your headache.. and.. NO.. im not being racist.. i.... hate everyone equally...

This company basically just follows the instructions they do not generally design anything. They might decide on the color of the heatsink or the way the printing is done on the board.

ethernet borked as soon as i turned on the pc... (steam is a startup thing...so it must of continued download of a large game)... my internet speed is 20 mbits i think... looking at steam now.... (connected through the usb wifi dongle.. ).. im currently downloading 6.33 megabytes per second...

well lucky for me, im a amd guy so if i dont see sparks when i boot up. i know its fake
and ive been deployed to the Philippines for nearly 2 years... im fully aware of how China functions... 1 company makes it.. and 10 other companies buy the mold and paint their name on it..... ...

i think 2500 mbits is 300 mbytes.. should be sufficient to run all that.... ... i switched the direction of the cpu fan to blow the other way thinking it was blowing heat onto that component of the mobo.. and it simply didnt spin.. so without wasting time i switched to the stock heatsink that came with the motherboard.. (red fan)... at least no more pesky rgb.... so now the heat is being blown out the case since its lying on its side... .. but 5 mintues after booting up.. its jumped to wifi... .. so motherboard is faulty ??? ramsta RS-A88MP.. its kinda like the famous b450 board made for fm2...

I do not understand.

Are you saying that you start with Ethernet (wired) and after 5 minutes then the computer jumps/changes to wifi (wireless)?

Or do you mean the heat and temperatures?

For the most part, having the case on its' side to begin with is a flag of sorts. Very likely the intended airflows etc. are as they were intended or should be.

At this point I will add the suggestion to check the PSU. Use a multi-meter to check the output voltages.

Could be a voltage problem.

steam starts up with windows and immidiately started downloading.. as does my torrent program.. musta overloaded the ethernet card.... which is why i ordred another, hopefully a standalone card will behave better than a thingy integrated on a motherboard.. mean props to China for getting things this far.. but nothing is perfect... i did use this ANTEC 500w psu.. in my last apt.. that had no ground.. still dont but i do have copper going from the grounding prong to something that goes into the ground which is why this pc hasnt died yet... maybe.. last one died.. but i can safely tap the metal frame of the pc case and not get zapped... good thing.. ill try the mutimeter tomorow when i have more light from the sun.. thank you...

PS.. im also using a higher end UPS that has a pure sine wave output and is likely filtering the nasties in local power... .. brand is cyberpower puresine...

Any sort of a loop.

no ground as in... there was no 3rd hole in the wall outlet.. in .. so what i did... i have these earthquake beams in my home... all beams are interconnected and on each corner of the building they go 1.5m into the ground.. i took an extention wire... circumcized it to expose the copper.. so from the beam.. i scratched a bit of paint off. i put a copper there and all the way to the 3rd prong of all the electronics that need a 3rd prong... .. and the pc is screwed into a metallic case.. just touched it a moment ago.. no shock.. no buzzing.. nothing... .. it is possible that there is a tiny bit of electrical feedback.. but.. nothing big enough to damage anything.. my last pc (not the one that died..) is a amd dual core... same issue... network card would stop functioning... i figured it was HP... wtv... but now its happaning in this awesome A8-7680... so im thinking its something else 🙁

Consider what might happen if some other tenant or party rigs up some electrical "fix".

Current can and does flow both ways.

What is really needed is a qualified electrician to come in and check the circuits, wiring, outlets, etc. for problems.

Smoke, sparks, and fire - not so awesome.

Get an electrician as soon as possible.

i agree completely.. but seeing as how i am new to "capitalism" (no secret that i am Canadian)... dishonest electrician will overcharge me..(locally called "afam tax") and good luck finding a certified electrician on this island (philippines is made up of 7641 seperate islands) and before you ask.. this entire house wiring was done by a local teenager in exchange for a big meal.. but at least i have breaker

Hardware failures do happen. My ethernet controller went out on a previous computer after about 5 years of use. The outages happened very sporatically and eventually got more frequent until it went out completely.

I suggest just buying a USB to Gigabit adapter. There's no reason to get an internal PCIe unit for such low speeds.

thank you sir.. i actually have an ethernet to USB adapter. but i doubt its gigabit speed, problem is... no more USB ports avaliable.. and i did mention that this happened in the windows 7 days.. and i was residing in Canada back then and if you think Quebec has any electrical issues.. New York is sooo F'ed right now since Hydro Quebec provides power to 25 to 50% of NYC.... .. well in 5-10 days ill get the ethernet card and ill give it a go and see if the drivers in windows 10 crap out again......cest la vie... must be my torrenting habits... im not ashamed to admit that... i have a about 9-10 hdd or ssd all connected via USB so.. if none of them have failed yet.. the overpriced UPS must be doing its job.. that and my ANTEC 500 watt PSU... (my favourite brand).. if there is a risk of a huge voltage spike.... maybe i should get a plug in surge protector.. i do have a GFCI plug.. But not installed because im no AC electric electrician so i dont think i should be messing with cables called live and neutral.. my little brain does not extend that far, currently installing WORLD of Warships.. downloading at 6MB/s... i dont really think i need GB speed.. i doubt Philippines can ever have that...

wireless adapters have a tendency to hog the irq. If you unplug and disable the ones you can't I bet you have better performance since consumer motherboard manufacturers like to make devices that share data buses. That is why I only buy commercial level boards like Supermicro now these days.

hey thank you... to this point i only use a USB dongle which is .. no wait.. im on ethernet.. just looked on the bottom right corner... this is good... apart from that the pci or pci-e card i ordered is not wirless.. its ethernet, maybe i am old fashioned.. i prefer solid connection... .. tbh i never used a wifi pci thing my entire life.. so probably means im not using the IRQ that you mentioned... i mean not using ALOT of it... .. and PS.. ethernet card is being shipped from China across the Philipine sea to here.. might need an extra 2-5 days...

no problem. Its just something I noticed with most versions of windows and wifi. If you are not using the wifi the system continues to tie up resources for it and the wired connection suffers.

Linux doesn't have this issue, but that is because that part of the OS is well engineered.

i am a fan of linux as well but each game i want to install presents a new problem.... so for simplcity i just said F it and installed windows 10, i dont need headaches in life....
