DRIVERS FOR WESTERN DIGITAL EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE WD800B008-RNN

My external HD (drive F) out of the blue is not recognized by my gateway notebook M520 running XP...Tried device mgr uninstall, re install..nothing!
can't diagnose...any suggestions ? Thank you...Tony

test it on another computer.

does it turn on?

there are no drivers. either the USB sees it or it does not.

Turned out not to be a driver problem. Iy just died. NO spin. Next move when I can affoes it is to recover my files and transfer them to a new external drive, Thanks for the post. ...John
