[SOLVED] dropped hard drive

So my buddy dropped his hard drive a few days ago and was trying to watch movies off of it but it is making a clicking noise. Immediately i know it was messed up and was wondering if i needed to send it to a specialist that could recover the data or is there any 3rd party apps that i may use to get the data off of the hard drive?

4TB of easily replacable movies, or games that can be downloaded again is completely different than 4TB of pictures of your kids over the last decade, and the only copy of a pic of your grandparents.
