I dropped my Dell Inspiron P26E laptop, and now when I try to start it I get a message that says: "Internal hard disk drive not found to resolve the issue, try to reseat the drive." "No bootable devices"
Ok so I took the hard drive out and reseated it, and it's still not working, I continue getting the same message at startup. Is it unfixable? Do I have to buy a new hard drive or new laptop?

if its a mechanical drive, yes there is a high chance your drive is dead. you can try accessing it with a SATA to USB adapter. if youre lucky your computer will be able to open the drive, and recover some of the files there. some of files you will attempt to copy may freeze your computer tho. be warned. you can use tools like Eesus partition master/minitool partition wizard to help you try to salvage as much as u can on ur damaged harddrive.

Or, maybe both the MB and HD were damaged - a local computer fix-it shop could do a thorough series of hardware checks. If you go this route, ask the shop if it can do a data recovery of your important folders and files first before running long hard-ware tests on the internal HD.
