DS4 cooling options

I just got my new build up and running with a 965P ds4 and an E6300. Booted right up.

My question is about the cooling. I suppose I could put it in the cooling forum but this is more about the mobo than the type of fan.

I installed the Intel fan and I can hear it although not very loud. Do I need it? I can find no information on cooling for this mobo except that it is silent. Not overclocking. Thanks.

I'm running the same as you are. You do need the fan, my CPU overheats without it. You can run the fan at 50%, it is enough and barely audibly, or you can put the fan on intelligent control. My fan normally makes some slow turns every minute on the intelligent control and this is enough to cool the CPU. I've never heard that fan since.
