So my landlord/roommate likes dsl tv and internet for some dumb reason. he wont make the switch to cable internet, which is 3-5x faster in our area. i was wondering if it is possible for the house to have dsl and cable internet at the same time, giving me my own personal cable modem line.

Solution
Sure is possible. The DSL phone line won't interfere with your cabling at all. The only thing I am not positive about is whether or not two companies can use the same cabling. So since your DSL company uses the existing cable lines, your new company may need to do something extra to get you cable access. Unless of course your current company offers both cable and dsl options, then everything is a-ok.

If you pay your local cable provider, I don't see why not. Completely different wiring.
You have to get the owners permission, though. Holes in the wall and all that.
