I recently bought a second gpu. Asus turbo 1080ti. I upgraded my mobo as well. When I install both cards. The system will not even make it to bios and get stuck at post code 30. I get blackscreen. If I run one gpu. It will boot to windows. Iv tested both cards alone. Work and boot up. What the deal?

okay have you tried swapping the power cables from one video card to the other,
have you checked on web site of manufacturer to make sure you have the latest required bios to run dual video cards ? (ie updated needed?)
have you tried installing the video card single,. ie try each alone to make sure they both work ?
have you tried installing the second video card in slot 3? (blue arrow)

Iv tried duel in 1 and 3. Works. But at pcie x4. My mobo tells me lane 1 and 2. If I do a single card on either 1 or 3 works as well. Single card in middle lane wont work. Could it be a bios update? I just got the board yesterday.

question;

1. you saying that when both cards are in lane 1 & 3 your system runs fine?
2. when you have a video card plugged in lane 2 the system refuses to boot ?

if you answer yes at both questions then you can try a bios update if needed, but it now looks like your motherboard is faulty.

Originally I thought so to. That's why I got a new board. I was running a asus maximus x hero before. Same issue. 1 and 3. Fine. Wont boot with 2 gpu's in 1 and 2 or just 2. Get code 30. So I bought this mobo. I find it hard to believe bad luck on two mobo with the same problem. See what I mean. Two separate boards. Both with broken 2nd slot?
