Ok, is it still a viable option to set up an amd dual-cpu system.
If so what boards are out there (currently on sale?)

What fsb's will they manage.(non agp-pro might be nice. PCI-express mayb?)

I know it may be an esoteric route to power but i am just not inclined to shell out for cutting-edge intel bollox. I have been a devout amd preferer for many years now.

PS. I have seen reports that athlon XP's support 2xCPU is this so or is it limited to MP's?

You can still get dual Athlon MP boards, and dual Opteron boards have been available for a while now. PCI-Express isn't on the market yet for AMD, PCI-X is for server cards, and what's wrong with AGP Pro?

Do you know of any internet sites that have some in stock?
(for uk)(Would prefer MP over Opteron)

Which agp is agp-pro normally compatable with 1, 2, or 3?
this is information I have found hard to find

AGP Pro is an extended slot that supports whatever standards the chipset supports (1.0, 2.0, 3.0). The extended portions (on the ends of the slot) are there to provide added power to professional graphics cards, and go unused with gaming cards. That is to say, for the gamer there is no difference between AGP and AGP Pro, but the professional user will need to longer Pro slot to fit his card.

hey can anyone tell me what is the compatible board for AMD Duron 800 MHz Processor and what video card is compatible? im in crisis...please people help me...

Duron 800 is supported by all Socket A boards and video cards. Depending on which board you choose, older ones will support AGP4x, 8x cards at 4x speed, and 2x cards. Newer boards support 8x and 4x cards, but not 2x cards.
