Ok I did this without researching so call me in idiot if you want but, I got a new m.2 ssd and, I installed windows on it without unplugging the old hdd. I moved the files I wanted then formatted the whole drive and, now windows wont boot I'm now running disk essentials partition recovery to restore the old drive but, is there a to fix the booting issue without this?

It sounds like the other drive was considered the "boot" drive or "disk 0" and while windows installed on the NVME, it probably created a boot partition for that install on the other drive.

Honestly not too sure of an easy way to fix this... so I'll let others chime in.

Either do you know if you are booting EFI or MBR mode?
