Hi I am wondering how I can dual boot Ubuntu with Windows 10 while having my files overlap ?
Should I back up and delete all of documents (music, etc.) ; I then shrink my partition ; restart my computer ; plug in my usb ; install ubuntu and I am good to go?

Thanks !

I am currently on my computer with Windows 10 installed. I would much prefer to do it on the SSD for speed mainly.
I guess, I could actually use my SSD for booting up, programs, and main documents while my HHD can always hold any documents I need to use back and forth between the two ?
Is that the case?

If so, the steps are to shrink my partition , restart , install ubuntu on restart and that is it ? How do I know what size I should shrink to ?

you can install on a seperate drive. ive done it before. but if you have a spare HDD lying around then go for it! there is a option in the linux installation to install linux and windows together

I have an SSD (100GB) and HDD (1TB) in my laptop. Would that mean dual booting on the SSD is the best choice?

Thanks a ton !

personally id use a 500gb SSD and a 1TB HDD but if your just putting the OS then you might be able to pull it off so long as the SSD is JUST for the OS only

I plan to give Ubuntu 25GB, Windows 20GB and Storage partition for the rest. Going for it now
Thanks,.
