Question Dual boot W10/W7 on separate drives

Hi All,

Long time reader, first time poster.

I build my own PCs but am still a bit of a noob when it comes to bios and dual boots.

I have a brand new PC with W10 Pro installed on a M2 NVMe SSD. My old PC has W7 installed on a HDD.

Can I remove my old HDD with W7 and install it into my new PC and dual boot W10 (primary) and W7 (for limited old program usage)?

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

M

Many thanks for the reply. I use a few very old paint/graphics programs (Paint Shop Pro for example). Also some old guitar amplifier sims.

Not looked into the VirtualMachine solution. Many thanks.

Any 32/64bit version of PSP should run just fine on a 64bit Win 10 system.
I currently use PSP 2021, but older ones should have no problem.

For the VM thing, I use VirtualBox.

I second the idea for using a VM. I personally have used VirtualBox and VMWare Workstation Player in the past (personally would recommend VMWare if you're new to virtual machines), and I feel like your PC might not be compatible with Windows 7 due to missing drivers because most manufacturers are only making drivers for Windows 10/11 now
