I read on microsoft's website that it is somehow dangerous to install an older operating system second in a dual boot setup. I currently have windows 10 installed on a 256gb ssd and want to install windows 7 in a partition of the hdd to run some legacy software.

Is there truth to this? or is this nothing I should worry about.

Here's the page where I found the warning http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/install-multiple-operating-system-multiboot#1TC=windows-7

I've never set up a dual boot before so I just want to make sure this isnt going to cause any weird issues
Note: I have a spare copy of windows 7 so the license will not be an issue.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
This article applied to much older versions of Windows. Today, you can freely use the bootloaders of 7, 8.1 and 10 interchangeably. You'll be fine.
