I'm putting a new system together, and i think i'm going to get the MSI 865PE NEO2-FIS2R Mainboard. If i bought Corsair TWINX1024-3200LLPT 400MHz 1GB, is it worth the extra $50-$60 to by "matched pair" ram... can this motherboard take advantage of it?

i don't think it is necissary to buy matched pairs...memory of that quality should work well on its own...but it is really your choice

The description on the ram reads "The TWINX1024-3200LLPT is a 1 GByte matched memory pair specifically designed for motherboards using chip sets with dual memory channels. Current two-channel chip sets include the Nforce2 from Nvidia and the E7205 ("Granite Bay") from Intel."

...so i guess i was also wondering if the mobo i mentioned above would benefit from it...?

there is no performance benifit...just some mobos do not run stably with certain memory...i will almos guarantee you that you do not need to waste your money on twinX corsair LL pc3200 will work fine...

I've been on both sides of the fence with this one. It seems to me the matched pair in this situation is memory that has been verified through additional testing. So if you want to take a chance, go without matched pairs, but if you thing nth degree of certainty is worth $50, go that rout.

These are some intel tested memories for one of their 865 based boards...one of these would be sure to work...
