Hello all,

Thank you for reading.

I have recently bought a new computer with the following configuration:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 1300W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor

In my old computer, I have AMD Radeon HD 5800 series.

My questions is: is there ANY point/should I transfer the old graphic card into the new computer and have 2 graphic cards?

I know nothing about SLI, pairing cards etc... so I'm reffering to those who know (a lot) more than me.

Thank you for your time.

No, not at all. There is no point. The Card is just too old and too low-end to have a placed in this "so-2014" build. You could try selling it at Ebay to get some money and buy games or other stuff like that.

You can't Crossfire/SLI radeon cards with Nvidia brand cards you can purchase the same card and crossfire it to get a performance but it wont work with crossing series and amd/nvidia. So you would need another GTX 980 to SLI it if you a powerful enough power supply which you do.

So what kind of improvement am i looking at if i do two 980s?

omg lol dont do 980 sli.. its a waste of money

always go for single cards when you are buying brand new .. get the 970 or if you have a bit of cash to spend, the r9 295x2

dual sli/crossfire comes with lot of driver instability issues..

Yea SLI 980 setup is pretty exspensive so I recommend a SLI 970 setup or even a r9 295x2 is perfectly fine and you can still get great performance.
