Hello, I will be receiving a hand me down computer that will be a 2600k cpu with asus Z68 motherboard. There will not be a GPU. The motherboard has 1 DVI connection and 1 Analog connection. Can i connect 2 monitors to this motherboard, 1 dvi and 1 analog and extend my desktop ?? I can not afford to buy a GPU.

Solution
Yes you can add two monitors. But make sure that you give a little more cooling to the motherboard's north bridge chip. Cause using two monitors will stress the on board GPU. Also you want be able use any graphics intensive applications on those monitors.

OK great news, i was worried the motherboard would just select 1 of the connected monitors at a time.
But why would the north bridge chip get hot, i thought the 2600k cpu has integrated graphics in it

Yes it has. Even though the iGPU is with the processor that's already cooling from a good heatsink and a fan, the north bridge is not provided any fans so it'll get heat more due to dual monitor setup. Some work stress is put on the North bridge even if the iGPU is not there.
