Hi all, i have been a long time lurker on Tom's hardware guide . I really only research new computer technology in depth when I prepare to buy a new computer every 12 months. I am really anticipating the dual core processors that are supposed to be out mid year. Right now I am looking at the Asus and MSI socket 939 boards. So the big question is, will these boards be compatible with the duel core chip when it is released?

Nobody knows with certainty yet.

It seems unlikely.
With Intel, there will be a TDP increase, that cuurent boards will not likely be able to support. Chances are, that Amd will also be in the same boat. Talk is that the dual core A64s will require aditional pins.
The TDP of the Intel chips is fact, all else is rumour and speculation.
