I currently have dual Radeon's, but I'm getting really fed up with CCC. It keeps failing on me, so I was looking to switch to NVidia. I only have a $270~ to spend, so I was looking towards the 760. However, I don't want to downgrade my computer just because I don't like the software.

Any suggestions/ which GPU is stronger?

We need to take a couple broad jumps from an old chart to a new chart, but here goes.

A pair of 6870's in Crossfire are about 17% faster than a GTX 480.

Which means, Crossfired 6870's are about 10% faster than a GTX 580. Therefore, Crossfired 6870's are just about the same performance level as a GTX 760. Of course, you'll be happier with the GTX 760, but overall the FPS will be similar.

So my overall FPS will be the same? And what brand should I buy? I'm relatively new to all this GPU/ computer stuff.

Thanks!

The card in that review, the MSI GTX 760 Hawk is the one I would want. As you can see, its factory overclock puts it up there near 7970 GHz territory. The Hawk series is all custom designed for high-end overclocking with custom components and a very quiet and effective cooler. It costs a bit more than the other 760's.

You can't do much better than that, but if you wanted to step down a bit, there's the MSI Gaming Edition, and then Asus DirectCU and Gigabyte Windforce. All come with great coolers and custom upgraded components.

i can tell you from first hand experiience, that even though dual 6850's were about equal with a single gtx660 in benchmarks, real world performance gives the 660 a huge lead in smootheness and playability once those frames hit your monitor, as i found out after crossfire stuttering giving me the shits. sold both 6850s and got a single 660 and was much happier. now moved on to sli 660's and its insanely good, no stuttering. AMD's crossfire isnt worth pissing on, even with the new driver that is supposed to fix this there are still many scenarios it doesnt work properly in. Not to mention the 6850/70's 1gb vram is a limitation in many new games. get the 760.

Ok, looks like I'll be getting a new GPU then!
