Hi everyone

I am looking to buy the ASRock AB350 mini ITX board and the RAM support says it supports 2x dual rank dual channel 2666mhz, and 2x single rank dual channel 2933mhz.

Which would provide better performance?
And, what would happen if I put in say, 3200mhz dual rank or single rank memory in dual channel?

I was looking at Corsair LPX 2x8GB ram but couldn't find ranking anywhere... I even emailed their support and they said they don't know (shocking imo).

Thanks in advance

What processor are you planning to use?
It makes a difference.
Go to the support site and access the ram qvl list.
https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITXac/index.asp#Support
Select the chart that matches your processor.

Plan on buying a ram kit that is explicitly supported .
That's the chart I used - I'm looking at the Ryzen 5 3400G (Picasso Ridge), which supports a maximum of dual channel 2933Mhz, but it doesn't specify single or dual rank.

Half of the problem is finding out memory rankings - even corsair don't list it on their product page and their email support don't know either.

I want to get the best possible performance on purchase, but not end up with ram that doesn't work.
