Dual XEON Quad Core 3.0GHz Processors vs. Single i7 920 @ 2.67GHz

Currently have a HP Pavilion Elite m9600t Core i7 920 w/ Core i7 @ 2.67GHz LOVE IT!!

Looking at a Dell PowerEdge 2900 III Tower 2x XEON Quad Core 3.0GHz

I will be doing some VM but mostly a lot of Photo/video editing. Photoshop/illustrator drawing and design. Probably some gaming and hosting.

Any suggestions if its worth the upgrade?

Stick with your i7 920. Those Xeons are older architecture, and not really faster than what you have for most tasks.

i have dual xeons (e5472) and they work just fine, i have another computer with an i7 4790k and i would think xeonx would be the same if not just a little bit slower

I'd be interested to know what your setup is as I'm thinking of this as a solution, mostly because I have a GTX470 (think 750) which doesn't fit in my current machine. Ideally I want a m/board that has both DDR3 and PCIe 2.0 and would run Win 10 with it. D'you find that what you run usually recognises both processors and have you run into any bottlenecks with the system you have? For instance I have a USB 3.0 card but my PCIe is only 1.0, nor is it useful to use that slot for a SATA 3 card.
