hi guys

i have the phenom x4 II 955 BE CPU

with 2GB stick 1333mhz kingston RAM

there is some delay and slowness in the system

i thought about the duall chanell RAM is it the problem??

i mean i have one 2GB stick do i need to enable the duall chanell something or i have these slowness

because the duall chanell is enabled although its one stick??

throw some ideas guys

Dual channel requires two identical DIMMs. You can't "activate" dual channel with a single DIMM.

The memory subsystem is double the width of a DIMM. When you have two DIMMs installed, it reads from both at once. Hence the term dual channel.

Many motherboards can support a single DIMM, but the system has to work harder, having to read twice to get what it would normally read in one cycle. That does slow the machine down.

Get a second DIMM that's identical to the first, and I mean identical - same brand, same size, same speed, same latency. Plug it into the correct DIMM slot (usually the DIMM slots are two different colours, and plug the two DIMMs into the same colour), and dual channel will be automatically active.

does it requires CPU that support duall chanell?

guys i think the slowness can be from the system spec:

something isnt compatibl maybe the RAM with the CPU or MOBO vice versa...

*also the video card is onboard taking the system ram

but i have 2 GB and it tooks about 300MB~ idle and 550MB on gameing
its set to auto in the bios......

and i know windows xp can work even with 280MB and i have "left" from the ram after what token by the video card like 1.3GB....

maybe only the fact the ram is shared is causing slowness???
