i agree with you, i mean its a game to relax and get some kicks right?
Seriously sometimes I wonder what standards their using for "Reviews". Are they analyzing the quality of the light work, the depth of the plot line. Are they looking for some deep meaning and spiritually significant moment. Grading on how much the character grows through out the plot as he has to shoot his own dog and come to terms with sleeping with twins. Or are they analyzing the technical quality of the game engine, the response on the controls, the amount of point-lights it supports?
Seriously they need to release what they are using to grade their reviews BEFORE they review it. Duke's plot is "They took my women, I shot them all and got my womenz back, then I drank a beer". His character growth amounts to "I discovered that hidden basements aren't protected enough from alien invaders". I think the deepest spiritual moment was when he was running around as mini-duke "hey wtf!" and realized how dangerous his home casino really was.
So when people rate it at like 5/10 or 3/10, what they hell are they actually rating? The game is ridiculously fun to play, you run around shooting everything that moves and punching everything that doesn't. Making bad sexist jokes and generally being an anti-hero bad ass.
