After 3D Realms stopped working on it I lost interest. With any other studio it would have been rushed like the next summer film at a theater. And that's exactly what happened.

[citation][nom]demonhorde665[/nom]i was perfectly pelased with DNF , sure it';s no "game changer" but neither were any of the old duke games[/citation]

That's like saying Doom wasn't a game changer. Duke Nukem 3D was a *huge* game changer. If you don't think so, I have to assume you weren't into playing PC games when it was released and tried it out years after. If that's the case, you don't understand what the genre was like at the time and don't have a frame of reference.

Too bad that such a time-honored title ended with a drastically dismal piece of trash. No matter how good the hardware is, the gaming experience is ultimately carried by the story, accompanied with compelling graphics.

DNF isn't worth playing:

I enjoyed the game very much too. I thank all the bad reviews because I went into the game thinking wow this is gonna be the worst game i've played in awhile...

My expectations were so low by the time I actually played it, it wasn't half bad. It was just a good bare bones simple shooter with duke in it... Nothing special

[citation][nom]kcorp2003[/nom]I have yet to purchase this game. waiting on a nice sale to pick it up. I waited for this game for so long and i will play it! but not on my #1 priority list of games to buy right now.[/citation]

It is a good game (played it on a friend's computer) if you come into it with realistic expectations. In that case, it's a 7 out of 10.
Personally, I am hoping since they have a engine that is pretty good, they will make another Duke Nukem game very soon that is better than this one much quicker.

I'm enjoying the game. It is classic Duke Nukem. I play for a couple hours or so every week when I'm not in the mood for the MMORPG I'm mostly playing at the time or it's down for maintenance, and it's a nice change from those experiences.

It's a better game than Borderlands, in my opinion. Better graphics, more fun. Still more original than most FPS shooters out there, despite having basically not changed in formula or style since the first one. The humor is sophomoric - but there's a place for that kind of humor, and this is the place. I wouldn't and don't enjoy it in an RPG game (including an MMORPG), but I do here.

Yes, it's also dated in how well you can control Duke, and that can be frustrating, just as it was back then. I do wish some things were better, but the fact is I was expecting a game that started being developed long ago to be one that played like that, not one that played like the best of the modern FPS games. It's unrealistic to think the game would have been re-coded from scratch starting a couple years ago, and if you are disappointed because of that, it's your own fault.

😉
