Dump from MiniDV tape to DVD

I'm sure this has been asked before, but a diligent search didn't
yield this exact question for me.

I've got a new Canon MiniDV camcorder, and I want to be able to dump
directly to a DVD on my PC. I have a IEEE 1394 cable and card in my
PC. What do I need for software to dump from the MiniDV onto the DVD
such that it can be played on a conventional DVD player?
Grandchildren movies are at stake here!

This month's issue of PC WORLD magazine names five DVD recording programs
that will "capture video straight to disc".

- Nero 6 Ultra Edition
- MedioStream NeoStudio 5
- NewSoft Presto DVD PowerSuite 1.1
- Sonic MyDVD Studio Deluxe 5
- Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator

Check out Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 also to see if they support this.

If all you want to do is a straight transfer to DVD, then buy a stand-alone
DVD recorder, preferably one with a built in hard drive. Pioneer, Sony &
Panasonic all have models to suit your needs.
