I have been using computers forever now and finally I go out and buy a graphics card. I bought a MX 440 and it worked great, then I found the price went down 25 dollars and I took it back and got the newer FX 5200. So I popped it in and started playing NBA 2k3 and every once in a while the screen would go black and I could do anything. So then I looked around and found out I should go to the override screen and turn everything to like 75 so I did. However its still doing it every once in a while. I was playing UT 2003 and it does it all the time. Please help

Why in hell did you trade in the mx 440 for a POS fx 5200. Tech-report (www.tech-report.com) did a review, and in non direct x9 tests/games, the mx 460 beats the fx 5200. The only thing the fx 5200 has over the mx is dx 9, but it doesn't have the power to really show it off.
I'd trade the card in for a raedon 9000 or 9100. Both cards beat the 5200. Or even better, save up and get a 9600.

In answer to your orginal question, what is your system specs?

I can take the video card back and replace it with something else...however it has to be at that store. Here is what I can trade it back for (I dont want to spend anymore money on the card, my car needs repairs :) )

Xtasy 9100 Video Card, AGP 4X, 128MB DDR
Radeon™ 9000 Pro Video Card, AGP 8X, 128MB DDR
which are both the same price.

however I would rather just find a way to fix the problem b/c I bought the plan where I can trade it in and buy a new card and use the credit from that card on to my new one. So once I get a few of my car problems fixed I am gonna throw down on a 9800 probably.

I'd personally go with the 9100. It smacks the fx 5200 something fierce.

could be a variety of things. What's your power supply? maby you don't have enough power. What about overheating? Heat tends to do bad stuff to your comp. components. what are your temps inside the case? Could be bad ram as well.

I dont really have a program to find out what my temp is, could u reccomend one? However I turned my comp off and popped it back on and checked the bios and it said it was 52 in there. I have a 300 watt power supply.
