Duron Multiplier

My friend's duron 700 was unlocked using the pencil trick. Works great at 8x108 instead of 7x100, but other multipliers act funny. At 8.5, it still posts at 8x108. At 9, it posts 7x108. It must be unlocked if it runs at 8 fine, but why won't other multipliers work?

It sounds like one of the L1 bridges wasn't closed.

Yeah, when it was unlocked using the pencil, the person who was doing it must have missed one or else didn't make sure enough pencil lead was down there to make a good connection.
