@IQ11110002:

Conquer? I hadn't played a video game in over 5 years and then I bought that and I bought a new rig so I could play Age of Conan. I remember leaving my character to beat up a dummy all night ever night before I went to bed so I could game some XP. I also hear you on the dumbing down issue and consoles... same thing happened in *cough* DA2 *cough*

I'm divided here to be honest. I did play through both Diablo and D2 when they released and I have great memories of both games. I've been looking forward to this release for a long time.

With that being said, I think Blizzard is really slapping the gaming community in the face with some of their approaches. As has been mentioned, the ninja DRM on a single player campaign is a joke. The sale of in-game items for real cash also bothers me. I remember playing EQ as the gold farmers literally infested the game with massive bot invasions and mudflation to the point you were all but forced to buy plat. I didn't agree with it then, I still don't.

My biggest disappointment however came when Blizzard made the active decision to not support Multi-monitors. Their reasoning is that it would create a competitive advantage for those that own these types of rigs. While that is without a doubt true, it's also true that players that use 120hz screens, or video cards that can push the title without lag, or people with low latency internet connections have an advantage. Heck, look at the players that use macro rich keyboards and mice, tell me that isn't an advantage. Overall it's just a poor excuse to exclude technology that some players really find to be the ultimate in immersion.

I'll still buy D3, but the entire thing is leaving me with a lesser opinion of a gaming company that I feel has been very well guided up till this point.

Wow now multi-monitor?

all i want is another diablo2 but with better graphics, new shit to kill and new areas to explore.. i want the same epic soundtrack and voice acting.. in d2, in the Pandemonium Fortress, you talk to one of the vendors,, she says "Hail to you Champion" the voice is awesome. it sends shivers down my back. the audio made diablo2 the epic masterpiece that it is, i really hope diablo3 keeps the same fantastic audio style that diablo1 and 2 had. i am very concerned however that Matt Uelmen is not doing the audio for diablo3.. this scares me.. and im really curious who is..
Blizzard. i must confess, the one thing that i didnt like about starcraft2 was the audio, the soundtracks are pathetic.. it is not starwars,.. why does the menu music sound exactially like something out of starwars???? terran music sounds hick to me, hope thats all fixed with heart of the swarm. also mention the lobby system. players cant ever try new maps because of that.. every friend that i know who bought it, is already bored with the game and stoped.. there is nothing left to do.. you can only play the top 5 most popular maps, and thats on a good day.

honestly, if you took diablo2, increased resolution, detailed characters, monsters, and environments, updated the engine for new operating systems, but kept the fantastic audio from d2, maybe add new items and armor, i would happily spend $60 on it.

Alot of the same sounds are back, sounds are great. I agree its taken WAY to long for this one but it will be awesome. Gold farmers wont kill peoples games like they think, if you want to play with friends play with friends you do not have to use the AH for ANYTHING if you choose not to. If you want to PvP it will be a problem no doubt but people ebayed SoJs in D2 so same thing just different face.

Maybe next time Blizzard should keep mum about new projects until it is released, because now I need Prozac because I've depressed myself waiting for the game. I don't have any friends.

That's basically the gist of many a post nowadays.

GameStop is showing July 1st as the release date, the problem is, the 1st is on a Sunday, and new games are typically released on Tuesdays.

There are dozens of games, being released on Kongregate, or Steam, that take 3 months to make, than are fantastic replayable games. Blizzard, a company with 40 Billion dollars in the bank, can't even manage their time, for a game that is taking over 12 YEARS to release.

Whenever. But Diablo 3, will be the last game I ever care to follow, or hear from Blizzard, after this, they no longer exist to me. (and to hundreds of millions either, as we'll all be dead by the time any other of their games come out again)

It didn't take over 12 years to release, they only announced the game in 2008, so it's only been 4 years. Had they announced it 12 years ago, then there would be cause for concern, but I doubt either way that it would've crashed & burned like a certain DNF....

Ok, so change everything except the music and you're in? Good thing they're making this in a new game with higher resolutions and more detailed characters, environments and monsters... plus, an updated engine for new OS complete with new items and armor.

they are changing classes, story line, skills, and more. the game sounds like its completely redesigned.

[citation][nom]Eturnal[/nom]It's completely redesigned because it's a completely different game. -__-[/citation]
diablo1 and 2 had little change.
it was almost the exact same game, they just added to it. more character classes, more areas to explore. graphics were a bit better.
