DVD driver for ASUS x53sd, help?!

Hi, i have an Asus x53s model D and my dvd reader doesn't work, it makes the usual noise and it torates the disk but it doesn't read it nor burn another one, i suppose the driver is missing, i tried searching in on the web but didn't find nothing nor in the asus website in which i found a lot of drivers, maybe i didn't recognize it due to a different name, what should i search?

Does it show up in Device manager? Should be under DVD/CD-ROM drives

The problem is that i don't know his name, i mean there are more devices named DVD etc so i can't recognize it

Sounds like something has been installed and may have added its driver to the upper or lower filters entries in the registry

Thats what can happen. It'll stop a dvd from being recognised. And stop it from working altogether

Did you install something like daemontools / any dvd / cd emulator programs?

Thats probably what caused it.

See if that fixes it

It didn't work, it gave me an error while installing and that's not the first time, damn i just want to burn a windows system on a disk so i can swap to SSD, why is it so hard..

Did you get the XP / Win7 fixit? Not the Win8 one? What was the error?

It just says that the program has stopped working, that's all..

mm Try running it as admin / right mouse on it. Sounds like your PC may have other probs as well

It didn't work, i think we won't solve this problem soon..

If you know how to use the registry you may have to do it manually. The info is on the site I posted.
