First time out on a thread...so if I am doing this wrong, please bear with me
:)

My question is I have a DVD-RW burner but when I try to drag files in
explorer windows says that the CD burner is not compatible...I don't have a
CD burner but DVD...can you change the default for this action?

You have to use third-party software. Windows XP cannot burn directly to
your DVDs.
(And if your DVD burner cannot also burn CDs, I'd like to know where you got
it.. that is an unique drive! )

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately responsible

you jump in with both feet.
