DVD not recognized

My Computer does not recognize my dvd drive.
When I named it and formatted it the formatting went not responding.
So I opened Task master and closed it and selected end now .
After taking the dvd out and inserting it after a while it wont recognize my dvd but recognizes others .
I use dell Laptop.
Pls help anybody by replying.

Have you tried the DVD in another computer? It sounds like the DVD has become corrupt.
