DVD not showing

Hey guys,i just build my first pc and turned it and it works great,so i went into the the BIOS of my Asus Z97 MOBO to check the stuff and i can't seem to boot my windows 8.1 Disc in the optical drive,it just sends me back to the bios when i save and exit,please,can anyone help me out?

Does the DVD drive open/close? If not it is not connected to power. Also make sure the SATA connection is secure. After that, do not boot into the BIOS, boot into the boot options menu. The key might be f11, or f2... it varies. Once in the boot menu boot to the DVD drive. Should then tell you to press a key to boot to DVD.

Yeah i found out shortly after posting this that i didn't connect the SATA cable to the optical drive..silly me,but thanks anyways the PC is working fine.
