DVD or Cd writer on Secondary Master?

Well, I have a Pioneer 16x DVD and a Yamaha 8824 cd writer. I have heard a lot of opinions. Should I put Yamaha writer on secondary master? (Primary IDE is full with 2 hard disks).
Also: Is Pio Mode really downing my Cd writer performance?

Are you going to use your burner frequently? I myself would put it as master - gives it higher priority.
